Seemingly anonymous, the faces are built upon the viewer’s perception. The artwork was based on a photo of myself when very young and my grandparents. I wanted to preserve a moment in time where there was connectedness, which has continued on to the present moment. With the interpretation of the viewer the face gains presence. The face looks back rather than the eyes, so we feel emotion more intensely in a process of absorbing the persona. Our own imagination is fired when mentally filling-in the features.
