Reminiscence: the vague and unclear recalling of something almost forgotten; this definition encapsulates the idea behind the work, which consists of eight pencil drawings inspired by photographs from my childhood. The face is erased, the setting only faintly suggested. The project focuses on the concepts of memory and forgetfulness, recollection and oblivion—two seemingly opposite aspects of the psyche that together construct our idea of ourselves, in a continuous process of adding and subtracting.
