Through a number of visual media, I explore various forms of complex issues related to, among other things, gender roles and mental health. Based on my own and others' experiences related to the issues presented, my desire is to capture the raw intensity behind trauma, injustice and power structures. In "Insemination" I focus on society's values and the expectations that come with motherhood and being a woman. I examine taboos and misogynistic issues through weaving craft techniques that are traditionally associated with women.
