But in the real story, the witch was the baker Katarina Schraderin, she made the most delicious gingerbread in the whole area and Hansel, who in reality was called Hans Metzler, wanted to get the recipes for these gingerbread. This story happened at a time when girls were called witches and were willingly burned just because they were beautiful.
