There are 2 paintings from the series beautybox_3242.save applied on watercolour paper and mounted on a support surface, they are framed by a leopard patterned styrofoam frame. Abstract forms, surfaces such as rectangles, lines, gradients and drop shadows collide with graphically digital fragments, 3-dimensionally modelled objects of body parts, technical objects and structures. Small figures from computer games move in the picture as if they could stand on the surfaces, in the sense of a 2-dimensional landscape. A choreography of graphic, digital and analogue elements, in a seemingly airless space. The works are entitled beautybox_3242.save. As the title already indicates, the works deal with the concept of beauty, which has been discussed many times in philosophy, art history and anthropology. To this end, I have incorporated parts of typical beauty products into the paintings in order to explore the concept of beauty historically and culturally and to sharpen it with a wink.
