Is identity immutable? The person we are today is the same as six years ago, ten years ago? When and why did we change? The painting stems from a reflection on the relationship between the concepts of Identity and Time, referring to the personal experience of a swimmer in order to fix a precise moment, describable and identifiable within the flow of existence. There is a direct reference to the theory of pointillism by Zygmunt Bauman related to the conception of Time in the contemporary world: painting is linked to the materiality of the fabric that makes ‘real’ that point otherwise incorporated in the texture of time.
