‘Transcendence’ looks at the body’s transformation as it enters the digital realm, losing its tangibility and becoming infinite. The imagery comes from a CET scan of a thorax, screen printed on clear perspex. It create images with shadows; something that is totally intangible. The shadows take the lungs out of digital confinement and back to reality where they are given the space to once again breathe. There is a sense of movement, and the piece even makes a butterfly-like shape. Transcendence explores the relationship between physical and abstract.
