This sculpture is part of the diversity series. This collection consists of a total of 8 different sculptures that originate from a self-developed algorithm. The sculptures are an abstraction of the concept of diversity within the framework of cancel culture. A part of culture I have experienced negatively in my life. Whenever I critiqued actions of diversity-driven movements, I was being called out for a whole array of different xenophobic synonyms. This resulted in a decrease of my own bubble of people I’d (like to) interact with. This way, cancel-culture plays an active role in the polarization of society. Achieving the opposite of what it intends to achieve. Denying any other perspectives stagnates social development in any other direction, than that of the cancel-culture perspective. With this body of works, I want to emphasize the value of different perspectives. With this sculpture, the perceived image changes depending on your stance in relation to the object.
