Stuart Mel Wilson Bio Wilson (1986) is a U.K artist based in the North East of England. After Studying Fine Art and Contemporary critical theory at Goldsmith College of the Arts London, Wilson spent his early stages as an artist based in London. This time was spent informing himself on ‘what is art?’, discovering where he saw himself fitting into the art scene and ‘why does he make art and who for?’ The artist development lead Wilson into finding empty place to put a show on for himself and curating a group show. Wilson’s work really came into its own when he moved back up north. He started to actualise some of his earlier ideas and develop upon his craft and skill elements to his work. He started to venture into some of his earlier visions and scale of work and mastering his own language. His aim for his work is to “talk through the unconscious or the unaware mind” by making large scale drawings with installation elements and exploring sculpture and space.
